Env. Minister Plans to Upgrade Fine Dust Issue 

to S. Korea-China Summit Topic

환경부 장관이 미세 먼지 문제를 업그레이드 했다. 한중 정상 회담 주제로 

The environment minister has revealed plans 

환경 장관을 계획을 밝혔다.

 

to upgrade the topic of countering fine dust

미세먼지 대응 주제를 업그레이드 한다고 

 

to an issue that will be addressed at summits 

between South Korea and China and at regional gatherings.

주제는 한중 정상회담에서 논의 된다. 

 

Kim Eun-kyung made the remarks on Monday at the National Assembly 

during a meeting of government officials and lawmakers 

on ways to lower fine dust levels.

김은경 장관은 월요일 국무회의에서 

미세 먼지 줄이기에 대해 발언하였다. 

The issue of fine dust has previously only been discussed at ministerial level.

미세 먼지 주제는 정부 각료 차원에서 논의 되었다. 
 
The new government has placed top priority on tackling fine dust levels 

새 정부는 미세 먼지 해결을 최우선 과제로 삼았다. 

and has devised comprehensive countermeasures 

종합적인 대책을 모색하였다. 

and implemented active emergency steps,

including closing down old, coal-fired power plants.

Kim said the government marked up reduction targets 

by two times and tightened measures on diesel cars to reach that target.

She added that the government is seeking to implement multilateral steps 

to reduce air pollution originating from construction sites and shipyards.

She stressed that the government had devised substantial measures regarding power plants,
